Corner view Vienna: Favourite hang out

This time of year our favourite place is definitely at home ... inside with the heater on full and drinking hot chocolate.

We have not really found any favourite places here in Vienna - yet. There are so many places to try out and this weekend we will be moving to a new appartment in a new area where we will again explore new places for coffee, wine or dine. Preferably smoke-free, but they are (still) hard to come by.

Corner view: Style

The corner view theme suggested by Cabrizette Your Style this week is inpired by the Danish style/fashion blogger Brinja who has a weekly post: what I wore this week.

Well, my style right now is clothes that keep me warm, like the brown poncho I use in Málaga or my woolen hat, scarve and boots in Vienna. And oh, I have something about owls, shoes/boots and bags :-)

Looking for OPEC

January's challenge in the flickr group La Vuelta al Mundo is architecture. My idea is to take photos of some of the newer buildings around Vienna.

Yesterday I had an errand in the neighbourhood of OPEC Headquarter, a building from the 1960'es (top photo - the small building w. blue pillars). However, when I got closer I saw that it is in the process of being demolished.

At home, I looked up the new address and it was not far from the old place. I had and errand in the area again today and I got a  shot of the new headquarter squeezed in between the some other gray buildings (bottom photo). Architecture-wise not so interesting, I think, at least not from the outside.

I do hope that the rest of the month will be a little more sunny than so far. Things look somehow better in sunshine.

On a rainy Monday

Some colors on a rainy and gray day in Vienna's 3rd district where I live until the end of this month, when we will be moving to another (cheaper, bigger and more light) apartment in the ninth district.

Winter weekends

The two above shots are from last weekend on a drive in the mountains behind Málaga. The sun was shining down by the coast, but 15-20 min. drive away from the coast we found snow covered fields of olive trees and trucks salting the roads.


Yesterday, there was time for a nice walk in the sunshine in the Botanical Garten of Vienna. Trees, bushes and frozen flowers cast beautiful shadows in the snow.

Rainy Málaga
