Cold ...
I will be busy today as I have spent the last three days more or less in bed with a cold, and now I have to get the last Christmas things done before my family will start arriving. Yay!
Have a great weekend.

Corner view: Traditions
Meet my yule nisse. He comes out every year around Christmas time and if I don't treat him well he can be vary naughty hiding or breaking things, make food taste strange, not bring any presents, etc.

Corner view: Improvising
Including today, I have 24 days left of my 365 project (one photo a day). Once in a while it has been necessary to improvise as the other day when I went to Málaga with the purpose of taking some photographs a.o., and realized that I had left the memory card in my pc at home. It was siesta time and no open shops around ... so no photo of the day from Málaga as planned.
The above shots are the result of that day's (evening's) improvisation - pictures taken in my kitchen and the photo of the day, one of the ones of the magazine rack.

Corner view: Rain
This week's corner view theme Rain is perfectly timed. It has been raining and raining and raining.

In my previous post Orange Monday I wrote that there was orange alert. In Spain they use these weather warning definitions:
White
Missing, insufficient, outdated or suspicious data.
Green
No particular awareness of the weather is required.
Yellow
The weather is potentially dangerous. The weather phenomena that have been forecast are not unusual, but be attentive if you intend to practice activities exposed to meteorological risks. Keep informed about the expected meteorological conditions and do not take any avoidable risk.
Orange
The weather is dangerous. Unusual meteorological phenomena have been forecast. Damage and casualties are likely to happen. Be very vigilant and keep regularly informed about the detailed expected meteorological conditions. Be aware of the risks that might be unavoidable. Follow any advice given by your authorities.
Red
The weather is very dangerous. Exceptionally intense meteorological phenomena have been forecast. Major damage and accidents are likely, in many cases with threat to life and limb, over a wide area. Keep frequently informed about detailed expected meteorological conditions and risks. Follow orders and any advice given by your authorities under all circumstances, be prepared for extraordinary measures.

Cooking ...
I like to try new recipes and this past week back in my own kitchen I have made Orangette's skillet carrots, Sopa de Castañas (Chestnut soup) from a recipe in The Moro Cookbook, and a banana bread from My New Roots, a.o. So this weekend I think I will eat out.
Have a great weekend.

Corner view: Different perspective
It has been a week with very little time for internet or photography, but here is a view of my dining table with some fresh flowers and my notebook which has to be placed right there if I want to get on the internet until I get a more stable solution ...

Corner view: Anything goes ...
I have mentioned before how much I appreciate the public transport system here in Vienna. I really enjoy riding the tram cars.
The above pics are from Matzleinsdorfer Platz tram stop which is subterranean and has fascinated me since the first time I passed by with tram 18 from Westbahnhof to Südbahnhof. It was like stepping 50-60 years back in time. The other day I took the tram again and it looks like there is a lot of restauration work going on. I just had to get off and take some pics. I somehow hope that those cool ceramic walls will be preserved ...
This is also a auf Wiedersehen to Vienna ... I am travelling back to Málaga today ...

Stadtpark blues ...
These pictures are from Friday afternoon in Vienna's Stadtpark.
Saturday it was 18C and Sunday a little bit cooler, not really the temperatures for Christmas markets and Glühwein, but we were there :)

Weekend
I know it's a little early, but this weekend I really want to visit some of the Christmas markets that start this weekend as this will be my last one here in Vienna until February next year. So I hope the weather will behave ok :)
Last weekend I saw Wall Street: Money Never Dies, which I really liked, and I re-discovered this music. I have been listening to it all week.
Have a great weekend.

Autumn days in Vienna. The trees are almost without leaves now and this coming weekend the first Christmas markets will open.

More from yesterday ...
these shots are from Floridsdorfer Markt ... Vienna's 21st district's market place. Not many shops or supermarkets are open on a Sunday in Vienna, neither the markets.
I got a new camera last week, a reflex one, and Sunday was the day to try it out. So it was nice to walk around shooting when there were almost no people around :)
