Treasure hunt in Vienna

As I have mentioned before I am member of a flickr group La Vuelta al Mundo that every month has a photograhpy challenge. This month the group has been treasure hunting for images of

1. a café, coffee shop
2. a boat of some kind
3. stairs
4. a love scene
5. a news stand
6. a street artist
7. pavement
8. an animal
9. a sculpture
10. a restaurant or bar menu
11. a bicycle
12. a child (you do not know)
13. street vendor
14. graffiti
15. a lamp post
16. a fountain
(the list translated my me)

It's the last day of the month, so let me show you the treasures I found in Vienna. You have to click the right-arrow to start the slide show (hope it works!)

You can find my flickr photo set here. Also take a look at the group page as there are really great photos and interpretations ...

It has been great fun and a good exercise to do this photo hunt. I really look forward to next month's challenge!

Corner view Málaga ... and Vienna: White

This week's cornerview theme is white, chosen by Natsumi. When I think about white in regard to this corner of the world I think of the Andalucian white villages (pueblos blancos).

The shots above are from one of these pretty pueblos - Frigiliana.

Personally, when I think of white, I relate it to winther and snow even though snow is not something I see every year.

However, this winther I may have a chance as we are going to spend a lot of time in Vienna. In fact, i'm only back in Málaga to pack some large suitcases with warmer clothes before heading up /over there.

Lady in white

The photo above is from Vienna earlier this month. I couldn't resist taking a photo of this elegant and color coordinated lady in white.

The past week I have been away sailing ...

Rain approaching
It was not stormy, but we did have some rain and thunder showers

Cabrera
The sky was beautiful ... and so is the island Cabrera - Parque Nacional del Archipiélago de Cabrera

I will be back tomorrow for the weekly cornerview around the world ... this time about WHITE!

Corner view Málaga: Out the car window

Stormy weather ...
This post has been scheduled for today as I am out sailing somewhere around the Balearic Islands. I took this photo from my car in October last year on a stormy day down by the coast. Hopefully it is not like that today!

Unattended luggage

Unattended luggage
Some poor traveller did not get his suitcase together with his co-travellers on arrival, I guess.

When in an airport it is announced with regular intervals not to leave your luggage unattended.
I had been looking at that suitcase for more than an hour when it was finally collected by some airport staff!

Color red in Vienna

Kärntner Strasse in the centre of Vienna is a place to watch the street performers

Look, he is also upside down inside the glass ball and this guy has a red glass ball on top of his head and several in his hands.

Color yellow in Vienna

Hundertwasser Haus in Kegelgasse/Löwengasse is designed by the Austrian artist and architect Friedensreich Hundertwasser and built between 1983 and 1986.

The house is very colorful, but here is a small yellow part of it.

The building is really facinating and there are so many details to look at like the windows in different shapes and sizes as well as all the mosaic decorating the walls.

Cornerview Málaga: September

Corner views around the world hosted by Jane of Spain Daily is back again. The theme this time is September.

In my corner September means gettting back to some kind of normal - that is, tourist season slowly ends, the schools start again and the weather cools down a bit and gets more unstable.

In fact, we had the first rain shower in months yesterday. It was wonderfully refreshing.

For more September corner views, jump over to Spain Daily to get the links.

A place to photograph ...

In my neighbourhood there is a tourist attraction, Castillo Colomares. I went to see it the other day for the first time, and I have been living here for a couple of years now.

The buildings (constructed 1987-1994) are a monument to Christopher Colombus and the discovery of America.

I was not the only one having a good time taking photographs.

There are so many details to photograph - ornaments, people, animals and flora.

Happy Sunday.

Blooming

I think my mini-orange (calamansi) tree is confused. Today I discovered that it is blooming ... and the smell is so delicious.
