August parasols

The flickr group Vuelta al Mundo (Around the World) has a new photographic theme every month. In August the theme was Sombrillas (Parasols).

My three shots below are from the local beach on the last Sunday of August. I think the whole town was there!

No room for one more parasol.

On the way to join the all the other parasols maybe!

The challenge for next month is to photograh a least 12 things on a list of 16. More info ...

Have a great september.

It's still summer and hot and season for scooters and mopeds.

Happy Sunday.

A green spot in ... Málaga

In the centre of Málaga there is a beautiful little botanical park, Paseo del Parque.

The shadows and the sound of water in the fountains make it a great place for a cool break in the middle of a hot day.

It hasn't rained for such a long time around here. I would not mind the least if we had a refreshing shower VERY soon.

Pink Palma de Mallorca

Palma is not only brown ...

I saw brightly painted poles in this empty street in the Historic Quarter,

a pink art installation on the roof of the Museum of Modern Art Es Baluard

and an angel in pink on a wall in the Cathedral of Palma.

Ups - not room enough.

Rocking chairs

Wish I had had room in my luggage for these two director's rocking chairs that I saw in a shop in Andraxt.

Shadowy sails

It's quite difficult to find shadow at sea - long sleeves, caps and sunglasses are must haves.

Happy Sunday.

Beautiful sails

Quite an impressive sight to see all these sails approaching you ... and rather fast.

The yachts were participating in the annual Kings Cup (1-8 August 09) in the Palma Bay.

It was cool to get to see them racing by at close range.

Our 10 days of sailing school ended last week ... We now got skipper certificates and can't wait until next time!
